White-water Family Rafting in the Grand Canyon

Published by morriswa at 10:24 pm under Travel: Southwest, Travel: West Edit This

Have you ever wanted to see the
Grand Canyon from an extreme tourist’s point of view? If so, consider taking your family (or couple/single) a White-water Rafting Vacation along the
Colorado River. Rafting excursions can be booked with authorized concessionaries located in
Grand Canyon
National Park. During these excursions, rafters spend anywhere from 3 to 13 days on a rafting tour. School-age children are allowed on some rafting tours, and teens are generally allowed on oar tours. If this sounds interesting, in addition to rafting, camping, hiking, and motorized boat tours are available. Since this an outdoor excursion, be sure to plan your trip during operational months. Most rafting companies operate from May until September, with peak occupancy during the summer months (school vacations).
If you are unsure if a rafting adventure is right for you, or if you can’t wait for yours to begin and want a sneak-peek, perform an Internet search on “rafting virtual tours” and you will find some rafting companies’ virtual tours along the
Grand Canyon.

Also, note these trips are flexible for those with all abilities, as some are oar trips and others are motorized boating trips. However, if you need a wheelchair or motorized scooter, it is best to check with the individual rafting company to see if transportation can be arranged for your accessibility device.
